Molybdenum Description

Pure Molybdenum is best categorized as a refractory metal due to its unique physical properties.  It has a high melting point, low coefficient of thermal expansion and high level of thermal conductivity. The strength of Molybdenum increases the more the metals is cold worked.  Mo is the standard when considering options for furnace construction as it is quite workable to machine and fabricate. Plate is a popular form for heat shields and heating elements in vacuum furnaces.
